American Giant has received most of its press from reviews of its now famous hoodie. Understandably so. The thing is pretty damn perfect. But what of the hoodie’s stubby armed little brother, the T-shirt? Determined to find out if the manufacturer of my cotton best friend could deliver on other fronts, I purchased 5 of their Tees online in various colors and styles. Having been raised on the thin, dare I say waif-like, cotton T-shirts lining most American department stores I was pleasantly surprised by the weight and comfort of the American Giant Tees. The pocket T-shirt and crewneck fit as advertised and as an added bonus the V-neck wasn’t so deep as to draw accusations of “you’ve changed since you moved to Brooklyn”. Comfort and fit aside, part of the appeal of American Giant apparel is their strength and durability. Although I haven’t yet passed the 1 year anniversary of ownership, these Tees have held up perfectly through holiday travel, daily commutes and playing it cool with the ladies (by responding to “I like your shirt” with “…it…I uh…American Giant… …please love me…”).
With frequent deals that’ll get you these great shirts for under $20 a piece pick some up for yourself and learn for yourself that this San Fran based company is about a lot more than just really, really, really great hoodies.
