George Vlagos founded Oak Street Bootmakers in Chicago, IL after starting his career as an apprentice in his father’s shop. While learning the craft of shoemaking, George noticed a lack of quality American made boots and set out to change that by designing his own pairs of durable, comfortable and stylish shoes. Today Oak Street boots and shoes are constructed from Chicago’s own renowned Horween Chromexcel leather to guarantee that soft, supple and durable look and feel. Oak Street Bootmakers also incorporate replaceable outsoles, a feature normally reserved for formal footwear, to ensure a lifetime of wear.
